A Work in Progress…
With just over an acre to manage, we knew the exterior wasn’t going to be a quick weekend project—it’s more of an ongoing adventure.
We were quickly introduced to the realities of country(ish) living: 16 sprinkler zones to figure out, a main valve that needed fixing, and more than 60 sprinkler heads that decided retirement was overdue. Add in an unexpected crash course in Septic Tanks 101, and let’s just say we’ve learned a lot—whether we planned to or not.
Thankfully, we’ve picked up a few essentials along the way. Our John Deere tractor has been an absolute game changer (and possibly our most beloved purchase), and the chainsaw…well, it may technically be a tool, but around here it’s earned full “appliance” status.
Then there’s the four-car garage—which turns out to be less about cars and more about storing everything that comes with a project like this (and then some).
The backyard has a bit of its own personality—uneven, slightly wonky, and keeping us on our toes. Leveling it out is definitely in the plan…eventually.
For now, the exterior is a mix of hard work, learning curves, and a lot of potential. The ideas are big, the list is long, and we’re just getting started.
